About Ken

Ken will be a strong advocate for southern Iowa and the entire state for private sector job creation, lowering taxes and making government more responsive to Iowa’s citizens.

Mahaska County residents cast their support in 2010 for Ken as he won his bid to serve as Mahaska County Supervisor. He is now asking for the support of voters in the new Senate District 40.

Ken and Becky, his wife of 41 years, have a son who is an Army paratrooper in his second deployment to Afghanistan, and a daughter and a son-in-law who have three children.

He has served as a church elder and deacon at the Bethel Christian Reformed Church, as an Oskaloosa Christian School board member, on the Human Services Resource Council, on the Christian Opportunity Center board, Farm Bureau board, legislative committees for state trade organizations and the Oskaloosa Rotary Club.

Ken has an agri-business background and, with his brother, operate a family farm.
